Roy Arthur Fuson February 18, 2010

Roy Arthur Fuson, age 60, of Burgaw died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence.

He was born March 22, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana and was the son of Wilma Story Fuson of Cassopolis, Michigan and the late Willie Arthur Fuson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Fuson and an infant sibling.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his beloved wife of 25 years, Sherri Mitschelen Fuson of the home; children, Roy A. Fuson, Jr. of Rocky point, Michael Fuson (Mindy) of Niles, Michigan and Jared Fuson (Donnelle) of Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Derek Fuson, Kimberly Fuson, Erin Fuson, Ashley Fuson, Adam Fuson, Ryan Fuson, Sarah Bonilla and Cassandra Cruz; several great grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Ellen Schutze (Ken) of Michigan, Ruth Hickey of Florida and Lois Owen (Dan) of Michigan.

Roy served his country honorably in the US Army and fought for his country in the Vietnam Era earning the rank of Sergeant. He attended Long Creek Baptist Church.

Roy was a devoted husband and loved his family dearly. He loved life and lived it to the fullest, always seeing the jovial side of every situation. With his witty personality he lifted everyone’s spirits. Roy was a very caring man and always put others before himself. Helping others was a way of life for Roy. Cherished memories will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sherri will be happy for friends to stop by the Fuson home and share a story or special remembrance of Roy with her.
