Eleanor Darlene Moore, age 72, of Watha died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Pender Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1937 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late James McKoy Moore, Sr. and Mary Arlene Whaley Moore. Also remembered are her sister, Linda Scott and brother, James McKoy Moore, Jr.
Surviving are her loving family, her daughter, Roberta Rivenbark and her husband, Ray of Burgaw; sister, Diane Turner and her husband, Kenneth of Watha; grandchildren, Michael Rivenbark and Erin Rivenbark; great grandchildren, Karmell, Markell and Sadie; nieces, Karen Moore and her husband, Robert, Crystal Smith and her husband, Tommy, and Jennifer Scott; nephew, Travis Turner; and great nieces and great nephews, Savanna, Katlyn, Haley and Michael.
Darlene was a loyal and faithful member of Watha Baptist Church.
Darlene cherished her family and showed her love in so many ways. She loved the Lord, her church and reading her Bible was a part of Darlene’s daily life. Making friends easily, Darlene was always a joy to be with. Some of her favorite endeavors were shopping, going to the beauty shop and buying a new outfit. She was a kind and gentle lady who loved her family with devotion and her family loved her. Fond memories of Darlene will always remain in our thoughts and hearts.
Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Watha United Methodist Church with The Rev. Macon Wood officiating.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
