Patricia Kribs Hughes March 06, 2010

Patricia (Patty) Kribs Hughes, age 79, formerly of Greenville, South Carolina passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Wallace, North Carolina. Due to her recent failing health, she relocated to Wallace to be closer to family.

Born December 1, 1930 in East Weymouth, Massachusetts; Patricia was the daughter of the late David Alson and Katherine Carson Kribs. She was also predeceased by her husband, Osbert Turner Hughes and brother, David A. Kribs, Jr.

Patty attended Penn State and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She was an avid animal lover and active volunteer at the animal shelter. She played duplicate bridge with her late husband, enjoyed all types of art and playing the piano. Patty was a member of Christ Church of Greenville,South Carolina.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her loving daughter, Katherine Fowler and husband,Thomas R. of Wallace and son, Jeffrey Hughes of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, Elizabeth Maya, Jordan Smith and Cindy Merrell; great grandchildren, William Maya, Marisol Maya, Trevon Merrell and Landon Merrell.

At the request of Mrs. Hughes, her celebration of life will be private. In lieu of flowers she also requested that Bibles be placed in her memory by the Gideons International, P.O. Box 572, Wallace, NC 28466.
