Watha: Jackie Earl Bullard, Sr., age 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 21, 2010. He passed peacefully at his home with his beloved family at his side.
He was born August 27, 1943 in Wilmington, the son of the late Jesse Dave and Helen Malpass Bullard.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Jacqueline Bullard of the home; children, Jackie Earl Bullard, Jr. (Carmen) of Winnabow, Kimberly Bullard of Castle Hayne, Shane Bullard of Castle Hayne, David “Butch” Bullard of Wilmington, Jennifer Harrelson (Chip) of Burgaw and Georgia Morgan of Currie; grandchildren, Travis (Portia), Cody, Alyssa (David), Alexis, Austin, Tommy, McKenzie and Olivia; great grandson, Kayden; sister, Jessica Greene (Don) of Wilmington; nephew, Christian Greene of Wilmington; special friends, Kevin Spears and his family of Currie and Dyion Skipper of Leland; and many caring extended family and friends.
He was a member of Faith Community Chapel of Sunset Harbor.
Jackie loved his family dearly and enjoyed every minute he spent with them. Being an avid horse enthusiast for over forty years, he acquired many friends and acquaintances who meant the world to him. Jackie was very proud to be Jacqueline’s husband, a father to his children; a granddaddy; a brother and owner and horse trainer of Trinity Farms.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 25, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Lewis Benton officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
Casketbearers will be Kevin Spears, Don Greene, Greg Roach, Mike Thurlow, J. R. Vernon and Ritner Goeff.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw and other times at the Bullard home.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Community Home Care and Hospice, 117 Suite E Village Rd., Leland, NC 28451.
The Bullard family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during Jackie’s illness and his passing. Your kindness, friendship and prayers have given us the strength and courage that we need during these difficult days. May God bless each of you.
