Alene Ward Williamson July 25, 2010
Alene Ward Williamson, age 83, of Mt. Holly and formerly of Wilmington passed from her earthly life to eternal grace on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was born June 19, 1927 in Tabor City and was the daughter of the late Lesie and Lula Coleman Ward. Also remembered are her beloved husband, Jack C. Williamson, Sr.; grandson, Jack C. Williamson III; brothers, Charlie, Coy and Eddie Ward and sister, Lola Ward.
Alene is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Pat” Williamson and her husband, Mike, of Mt. Holly; son, Jack Clifton Williamson, Jr. of Wilmington; grandchildren, Marie Lewis, Dianne Hildebrand and Amy Leonard Dukes; great grandchildren; Jessica Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Joshua Hildebrand, Ethan Hildebrand, Hannah Hildebrand and Sarah Hildebrand; brothers, Lloyd Ward and Tommy Ward; sister, Carol Mudge and many nieces and nephews.
Alene loved her family beyond measure and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Alene loved the Lord and showed it in the way she served others. In her adult years she obtained her GED and went back to school to receive her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. For many years she was a home missionary with Southern Baptist Children’s Home in Thomasville. After retiring from the Children’s Home, she became director of Wallace Care Center, a home for the elderly. Alene’s life was truly devoted to caring for others. The memory of her Christian life and her tender loving care of others will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved Alene.
A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Dean Walker officiating.
