Arthur Lewis Webber, 90, of Willard left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on October 11, 1929 and was one of 12 children born to William Franklin and Myrtle Hollowman Webber. He was also predeceased by his best friend and wife of 48 years, Jannie Horrell Webber; son-in-law, David Norris and eight siblings.
He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving daughters, Janice Norris of Durham, Ilene Merritt and husband, Tony of Chapel Hill, Patsy Lewis and husband, Chris of Efland and Julie Guy and husband, Brandon of Durham; grandchildren, Katie Merritt, Gracie Guy and Mady Lewis; sisters, Geraldine Register of Willard, Louise Collins of Southern Pines, Mildred Mull of Aberdeen; his canine companions, Rango, Midnight, Lazy-Daisy and Sandy and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Lewis dearly.
Lewis was a loving and caring daddy, granddaddy and brother. He found great joy in the simplest things, but his greatest joy was his ‘girls’. They were his life. With a big heart and generous spirit Lewis was always willing to help everybody. He enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard as his health permitted. Lewis had a great sense of humor; his witty sayings, jokes and made-up rhyming songs would keep you in stitches. He was a great joy and fun to be around. A man of great integrity, Lewis loved his Lord, his family and his friends. He will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Billy Toler and the Reverend Sammy Boone.
Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
Casketbearers will be Brandon Guy, Chris Lewis, Tony Merritt, Bill Bell, Danny Hawks and Wayne Williamson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, December 29, 2019, one hour prior to the funeral service.
The children would like to sincerely thank Brandon Guy and Katie Merritt for going above and beyond their responsibility in taking care of of their daddy and for being there when they could not. Your dedication and love will never be forgotten.
