Brenda Bevins Obituary

Brenda Mae Ladison Bevins, age 60, of Maple Hill left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. She was at UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston.

Brenda was born on May 4, 1959 in St. Lawrence County, New York; the daughter of George Henry and Gloria Jean Butterfield Ladison of New York. Brenda was predeceased by her daughter, Tina Taylor in 2013.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is survived by her son, Eli Francis Lobdell of Ridgecrest, CA; daughter, Cindy Fletcher and husband, James of DeKalb Junction, NY; eight  grandchildren, Michael Fletcher, MyKailia Fletcher, George Bevins, Kristean Fletcher, Byron Ellis, Angel Bevins, Shileah Fletcher and Eli Lobdell II; one great grandchild; sisters, Martha, Sheila, Robin, Keitha, Sue and Carol; brother, Mark and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Brenda was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace “an instrument of God’s love on this earth.” She was a loving mother and caring grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own.  She found great joy raising her three children as well three grandchildren. During this time Brenda lovingly sacrificed a lot to make ends meet. She learned how to ‘stretch a dollar’ by finding clearance sales and yard sales.  Many years ago, Brenda was hurt in an accident and confined to a wheelchair for 20 years. During this time, she developed pneumococcal pneumonia and had to stay in the hospital for many weeks. While recovering from this illness, Brenda learned how to walk again. Being a woman of great faith, strength and compassion, Brenda was an overcomer and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will surely be missed but her family are comforted to know that she is more alive today than ever before.

To honor Brenda’s wishes, she will be cremated. There will be no service at this time.
