Dwain Craft Obituary

Leslie Dwain Craft, age 37 of Warsaw and Mill Swamp Community left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from Wake Medical in Cary, NC.

Dwain was born on May 27, 1981 in Onslow County and was the son of Jerald and Audry Willaford Craft of Wallace.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ruby and Gladys Craft and maternal grandparents, Garland and Helen Willaford and his niece, Courtney Craft.

As a child, he attended Shiloh Baptist Church and later in years, he joined Mill Swamp Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish his memory, in addition to his devoted parents, are his brothers, Jerry Craft and wife Alisha of Leland and Kirk Craft of Wallace; nieces, Kyleigh Craft, Billy Page Craft and ElizaBeth Craft and numerous extended family and friends that loved Dwain dearly.

Dwain was a special young man who was loved by so many. He had a big heart and loved his family and friends dearly.  Never complaining, he would always call his situations since his accident as, ‘bumps in the road’.  He was happy, up-beat and never down, despite his situation.  Bound to his wheelchair for 16 years, Dwain could make it almost ride like a 4-wheeler and he could go just about anywhere he wanted to go with it.  Dwain was a real champ, learning early after his accident not to let his handicap keep him from enjoying life.  He loved Topsail Beach, playing ball, car racing, and watching Tiger Woods play golf. His favorite past time was eating and watching TV.  Dwain was a giant of a man and he will surely be missed. Treasured memories of him will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Dan Sellers officiating.
