Elizabeth (Jones) Jones

Elizabeth Jones, 80, left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Saturday, August 31, 2019.  She was at DaySprings Assisted Living of Wallace. 

Born on November 6, 1938 in Jones County, NC, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Garfield and Alice Pike Jones.  She was also predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Horace Edward Jones, Sr.; her son, Horace E. Jones, Jr. and brother, Richard Jones.

Surviving is her devoted daughter,  Mary Ann Jarman and husband, Billy of Magnolia; her grandchildren, Eddie Jarman and wife, Heather, Jo Ann Jarman and husband, Eddie, Alea Hollingsworth and husband, William and Michael Jarman and wife, Laura; great grandchildren, Damien Jarman, Madison Ann Hollingsworth, Joshua Hollingsworth, Riley Jarman, Conner Jarman and Gavin Jarman; sisters, Ercell Raeford and husband, Carlton of LaGrange, Betty Creel and Glen of New Bern and Barbara Ann Sanders and husband, Mert of Richlands; brothers, Ray Jones of New Bern, Barfield Jones and wife, Cathy and Jack Jones and wife, Darnell; all of Pink Hill and Raeford Jones and wife, Janet of Dover and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Elizabeth dearly.  

Elizabeth was a devoted wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister.  Being a diligent homemaker and great cook, she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered.  Elizabeth enjoyed working in her yard when her health permitted, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.   Being full of life, Elizabeth kept everyone on their toes. She enjoyed going to church and she loved her church family.  Elizabeth was loved and respected by all knew her and she never met a stranger.  Elizabeth will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  

Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Steve LeRoux officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. 

Burial will follow the service at Duplin Memorial Gardens in Teachey.

Casketbearers will be William Hollingsworth, Eddie Jarman, Michael Jarman, Damien Jarman, Dennis Jones and Duane Jones.
