JoAnn Cole

JoAnn Cole, of Wallace, a kind, gracious and loving lady entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the age of 68. 

She was born on February 11, 1951 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Cole and the late Jeanette James Piner.  She was also predeceased by her sister, Marilyn James Benson.

Surviving is her son, Jeffrey Cole and wife, Mary of Wallace; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Jordon Cole and J.J. Cole, Jr.; her siblings, Donnie Cole of Clinton, Dean Cole and wife, Pam of Penderlea, Retha Garriss and husband, David of Watha, Anita Brown and husband, J.C., of Watha, Susie Kelly of Dallas, TX; Joey Piner and wife, Debbie of Harrells and Bettina Williams of Wallace; step father, Bruce M. Piner of Wallace; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved JoAnn dearly.

JoAnn or "Jo Bear" as she was affectionately called, was a loving mother, caring grandmother and sister who was very proud of her family.  She was a simple lady who enjoyed the simplest things in life but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  A lover of life and full of joy,  "Jo Bear" loved to laugh and make others laugh.  With a big heart, she would give the shirt off her back to help those in need.  "Jo Bear" loved beach music, fishing, playing Bingo and slot machines.  She looked for and encouraged the best in everyone that she knew; and was a shoulder upon whom many found comfort and solace. Jo Ann will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  

Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Sammy Boone and the Reverend Ron Williams officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45pm on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow the service in Piner Family Cemetery, Wallace, NC 

Casketbearers will be Dean Cole, David Garriss, Joey Piner, Jimmy Smith, Ronnie Smith and Jay Brown.
