Myra Flynn Obituary

Myra Zehrbach Flynn, 97, of Wilmington and formerly of Rose Hill left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Monday, December 17, 2018.

She was born on February 23, 1921 in Selma, AL and was the daughter of the late William Lee and Myrtle Brown Passaro. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Reginald Zehrbach and Milton Flynn; son-in-law, Jimmy Blanchard and step-son, Sonny Flynn.

Mrs. Flynn was a member of Hampton Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sylvia Blanchard Cherry and husband, Ray of Rose Hill; her son, William Reginald Zehrbach and wife, Darlene of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Chris Blanchard (Kim), Amy Bradshaw (Clayton), Lora Zehrbach, Colleen Flynn, Christy Fields (Eric) and Heather Wells (Adam); great grandchildren, Kensley, Jase, Tyler, Owen, Avery, Emily Marie, Case, Cooper, Jack and Josh; daughter-in-law, Mary Carol Flynn of Richmond, VA; special friends, Craig and Kathy King and numerous extended family and friends that loved Myra dearly.

Myra was a loving wife and caring mother and grandmother who loved her family. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace “an instrument of God’s love on this earth.” She was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her. Myra looked for and encouraged the best in everyone that she knew; and was a shoulder upon whom many found comfort and solace. She will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, VA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the home of Sylvia and Ray Cherry.
