Rigoberto Batlle aka Battle

Rigoberto Batlle aka Battle, age 89, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Monday, February 18, 2019. He was born on February 12, 1930 in the Republic of Cuba and was the son of the late Pedro Batlle and Josefa Rodriguez. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Marlene Batlle.             

Surviving is his wife and mother of his children, Maria Luisa Miranda of Florida; his sons, Lazaro R. Batlle and wife Betty of Wallace, North Carolina and Luis Batlle of Florida; his granddaughter, Marian Rodriguez of Georgia and numerous extended family and friends. 

“Rigo” as he was affectionately called, was a good father and a great provider for his family. He was a hard worker who left communist Cuban over 40 years ago to come to America to make a better life for his family.  He settled in Florida and became the owner and operator of great restaurants. “Rigo” was a people’s person and with his sense of humor, his humbleness and meekness, he was loved by many.  He loved animals and nature. “Rigo” will surely be missed, but cherished memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.     

Funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home of Wallace followed by receiving of family and friends until 9:00pm.
