Shirley Rivenbark Obituary

Shirley Hadnott Rivenbark, 88, of Wallace, left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, January 6, 2019 surrounded by her children.

They were married in 1951.  Shirley was later employed as secretary for Powell Motor Company until she joined her husband and his brother at Sports and Hardware Center in Wallace until 1990 when they retired and closed the business. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Wallace since 1952. During her years at First Baptist Church, Shirley was involved in various positions. She was a member of the Sonshine Choir, involved with the Keenagers and enjoyed the trips with the Merry Gerries.  She loved her church and her church family.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Harris Earl Rivenbark, Jr. of Teachey and Sharon R. Boney and husband, Jerry of Wallace; grandchildren, Christopher Rivenbark and wife, Melissa, Mitch Rivenbark and Kyle Rivenbark; great grandchildren, Megan Rivenbark, Graham Rivenbark, Paige Rivenbark, Payton Rivenbark, Allison Rivenbark, Gage Rivenbark and Kinsley Rivenbark; great-great grandson, Eli Cano and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Shirley.

Shirley was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.  She found great joy in the simplest of things, but one of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was a diligent homemaker who filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered.  She was a great cook and a good neighbor and friend.  Shirley will truly be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
