Sylvia Anne Kornegay Miller, 72, of Goldsboro and formerly of Rocky Point passed from her earthly life on Friday, January 4, 2019 at her home.
She was born February 28, 1946 in Duplin County, the daughter of the late Homer and Mary Jane Grady Kornegay. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyte Gene Miller, in 2010; sister, Alma Smith; and brothers, David and Ricky Kornegay.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Renee Miller Carpenter (Charles “Chuck” B. Carpenter, Jr.); son, Donald Gene Miller (Debbie); grandchildren, Taylor Miller, Chasen Carpenter, Justin Cavenaugh and Christopher Evans; sisters, Brenda Taylor, Kathy Mathis, and Betty Lou Sisk; brothers, Jack, Melvin and Allen Kornegay; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Anne, a gracious, caring and loving mother, grandmother and sister loved her family. She was a wonderful homemaker, creating a home filled with sunshine and love. Her presence on this earth will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw Chapel with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. James Herchenhahn will conduct the service.
Burial will follow in Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery.
