Willie James Cole, 73, of Wallace, passed from his earthly life on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
He was born on April 6, 1946 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Willie Edward Cole and Marie Watkins Quinn.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Kevin Cole and wife, Shelly, Shannon C. Sholar and Melanie Cole, all of Wallace; grandchildren, Kristina Cavenaugh and husband Philip, TJ Cole and wife, Brandy, Kimberly Meshaw and husband, Taylor, Bradley Cole and Amanda Cole; all of Wallace; great grandchildren, Jorja Cavenaugh, Paisley Meshaw, Ryan Cole and Ella Meshaw; brother, David Cole and wife, Carol of Magnolia; sisters, Eula Mae Piner of Wallace, Dorothy Noe and husband, Chuck of Wilmington and Gladys Hull and husband, Mark of Goldsboro; his beloved feline friend, “Penny”; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Willie and was loved in returned.
Willie was a devoted father and caring grandfather, brother and uncle who loved his family dearly. To him, family was everything and he showed that by always putting them before his own needs or wants. Being an outdoorsman, Willie enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing, his tractor, lawn mower and dump truck. His favorite past time was driving around in his white Chevrolet truck while drinking a diet Sundrop. You never had to wonder what was on Willie’s mind because he always spoke what he thought. He was a caring, genuine and simple man who loved his family and his friends. With his witty personality, he loved to laugh and make others laugh also. Willie will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
