Karen Lefler Sadler, age 62, went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 25, 2017. She was born on November 4, 1954 to Samuel and Sarah Lefler of Charlotte, NC.

Karen moved to Wilmington 10 years ago, after living in Charlotte most of her life. She had a tender heart for animals her entire life and devoted much of her time to rescuing her "four-legged babies". Many of these animals over the years have become her kindred spirits and brought her immense joy. Karen had the most remarkable uplifting spirit. Those who knew her will remember her devotion to her faith, her family, and her work. She connected with people in all areas of life and enjoyed long, all-encompassing conversations.

Karen was completely devoted to her family. She was the most loving, caring, and giving mother and grandmother that anyone could ever have.

Karen is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Davis and Staci Washington (Ty), of Wilmington; and her son Christopher Haynes of Wilmington; and grandchildren, Corbin Davis, Kailey Davis, Grayson Davis, Reese Davis, Harmony Caulder, and Lana Haynes of Wilmington.

A service to celebrate Karen's life will be conducted on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home at 315 Willow Woods Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409. The family will receive friends following the service.
