Laura Heath
Cumer
Apr 1, 1942 — Oct 4, 2018
Laura Heath Cumer, 76, of Wallace, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCareCenter in Wilmington.
She was born in Pender County on April 1, 1942, to the late Roy Teachey Heath, Sr. and Catherine Virginia (Stevens) Heath.
Laura was a Christian and a wonderful mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was known to be a little feisty and often spoke her mind. Her hobbies included yardwork, working with her plants and flowers and entertaining. She was always quick to offer a cup of coffee, she loved her coffee throughout the day, whenever someone stopped by. She took great pride in her hospitality and cooking when visited by family and friends, and especially enjoyed throwing her Labor Day and New Year's Eve parties, going to great lengths to make everyone feel welcome and at home. She loved celebrating Christmas as well. Laura kept Christmas decorations up in her home all year round. It was like walking into a Christmas shop.
Mrs. Cumer is survived by her loving daughter, Angie (Bradshaw) Chicelli and her companion, Hank Middleton; her brothers, Joe Heath and his wife, Lisa, and Fred Heath; her sisters, Joy Heath Brown and her husband, Ray, Virginia Heath Register, and Jean Heath Cunningham; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Bruno Cumer; her brother, R.T. Heath, Jr.; and her sisters, June Heath Godwin, and Barbara Heath Matthews; and beloved cat, Abey.
As per her wishes, Laura was cremated. Family and friends will Celebrate her life at later date.
