Mary Katherine Lee Thompson, age 62, of Wallace, left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from Day Springs of Wallace.

She was born January 30, 1954 in Sampson County and was the daughter of the late Hubert Crosby and Ressie Wood Lee. She was also predeceased by her brother, Hubert Lee.

Surviving are her devoted sons, Scott Thompson of Rose Hill, Christopher Allen Thompson and his wife, Ashley, of Rose Hill; granddaughters, Addison Thompson and Peyton Thompson; sister, Louise Lee of Clinton, niece, Susie Lee of Clinton and numerous extended family and friends.

Mary was a loving mother and caring sister who loved her family dearly. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. Mary will surely be missed but cherish memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening immediately following the funeral service until 8:00pm.
