Alan "Lynn" Langston, Sr., 70, of Shallotte, formerly of Wilmington, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington.

Lynn was born on August 25, 1952 in Wilmington, NC to the late Earnest Albert Langston and the late Hazel Howard Langston.

Lynn enjoyed the simple things in life…he loved to talk on the phone and visit in person with family and friends, and he loved to "burn up some gas" as he called riding around the countryside in his truck. Years ago, he really enjoyed any and all mechanical work on vehicles. He was partial to vintage WW2 military vehicles.

Lynn is survived by his sons, Alan Lynn Langston, Jr, and George "Matthew" Langston; granddaughters, Ella, Morgan, Tresa, Talan, and Hailey; sisters, Sandra Langston Kinney (Joel) and Janet Odom; and brother, Howard "Wayne" Langston. Limbo, his cat, also survives him.

Lynn was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Lynn Langston; and brother, Albert Ray Langston.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Riley's Creek Memorial Cemetery, 2111 Clark's Landing Loop Road, (about 4 miles south of Riley's Creek Baptist Church) Rocky Point, NC 28457, with Pastor Merrell McKoy officiating. Service is dress casual attire so shorts and t-shirts are acceptable.
