Alger Carr "AC" McLeod, age 78, of Hubert, NC passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home in Hubert, NC.

He was born on May 9, 1945 in Harnett County, NC to the late Alger Carr McLeod and Hilda Herndon McLeod.

AC was a United States Army veteran. He loved aviation; building and flying radio-controlled planes, as well as piloting actual planes. AC enjoyed going to the beach and fishing. He was a loving best friend, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, who will be dearly missed.

AC is survived by his former wife and best friend, Barbara Jordan; sons, Alger Carr McLeod, Jr. (Neraida) and Scott McLeod (Jessica); daughter, Christie McLeod Jarrett (Jason); brother, Bill McLeod (Karon); sister, Ann Hendler; grandchildren, Nicole Dabeck (Darrel), Sarah Hunter (Robert), Ryan Dolph, Jade Dolph-Krupa (Jimmy), Maddison Brice McLeod, Stephanie Alejandra McLeod, Raven Alexandra McLeod, Austin Handy, Cynthia VanPelt (Scott), Nathan McLeod, Taylor Jarrett, and Ashley Jarrett Taylor (Fred); and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, AC was preceded in death by his daughter, Ginger Ann McLeod; and brothers, John Alexander McLeod and Jimmy Packard.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Seagate Cemetery in Wilmington on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 2pm.
