Allan Henderson Riggan, age 73, of Watha left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Monday, February 24, 2014 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 27, 1940 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Ruben Dwitt and Ann Clark Riggan.

Mr. Riggan served his country honorably in the US Army.

Surviving is his best friend and wife of 45 years, Joanne Brown Riggan; niece, Tia Kaluk of Princeton, West Virginia and numerous friends.

Allan was a devoted husband and a friend to all. He was a quiet man who tended to his own business and never spoke a harms word about anyone. Being a great lover of animals, Allan would always bring home animals that were lacking in food and needed love and care. He and Jo would give them the attention that they needed. Allan was owner and operator of Glass Plus in Wallace where he served the people of Duplin and Pender County. He was an honest man who would give the shirt off his back to those in need. Allan will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
