Allan Ray Snyder, 83, of Kelly passed peacefully from his earthly life Saturday, April 24, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1937 in Campbell County, KY, the son of Henry Jacob and Edith Lickert Snyder. In addition to his parents, Allen was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Ann Windgassen.

Allan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Snyder; son, Nathan Allan Snyder and wife, Mary; daughter, Natalie Ackiss and husband, Lee; grandchildren, Aaron Ackiss, Bryan Ackiss, Summer Ackiss, and Mackenzie Snyder; brother-in-law, Roger Windgassen; and many friends.

Allan enjoyed clay target shooting and was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Assoc. He was the owner and operator of Pender County Gun Club until 1998. He thoroughly enjoyed talking with other shooters and sharing stories of expertise.

Upon retirement he and his wife traveled the country in their RV, spending six months on the road and six months at home in Kelly, NC.

Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 168550 NC Hwy 53 E, Kelly, NC. The Rev. Merrell McKoy conducting the service. Visitation at the cemetery will follow.
