Allene Flynn Moore, age 90, of Currie died Friday, December 14, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 17, 1917 in Pender County, the daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Bessie Applewhite Flynn. She was also predeceased by her husband, Roscoe Earl Moore; sons, Roscoe Moore and Freddy Moore; daughter, Kathryn Parker; one granddaughter; one grandson; one great grandson; two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Moore was a long time faithful member of Canetuck Baptist Church. Allene was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her sons, Edward Moore and wife, Myrtie, Kenneth Moore and wife, Katie, Willis Moore and wife, Anita, and Robert Moore all of Currie; daughters, Merla Jackson and husband, Eldon, of Riegelwood, Jane Deal and husband, Buddy, of Watha, Brenda Miller and husband, Billy, of Currie, and Glenda Dennis of Newberry, SC; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; sisters, Annie Bell Carroll of Currie, Estelle Sykes of Riegelwood, Frances Norris and Mavis Squires both of Kelly; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, at Canetuck Baptist Church with The Rev. William Moore and The Rev. Anthony Clemmons officiating.

Burial will follow in Moore Family Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be grandsons of Allene Flynn Moore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mrs. Moore.
