Andrew Dixon Murray, 24, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born on March 9, 1991 in Duplin County and was the son of Arnold Frank Murray, Jr. and Wendy Dixon Murray of Rose Hill.

Surviving in addition to his loving parents is his sister, MaryKate Murray of Rose Hill; paternal grandparents, Frank and Hattie Murray of Rose Hill; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Gail Dixon of Rose Hill; aunts and uncles, Wanda and Anthony Darden of Rose Hill, Ginny and Nelson Hope of Rose Hill, Julie and Shane Thigpen of Texas and Mike Murray of Rose Hill; special aunt and caregiver, Eleanor "El" Murray Thompson of Wallace and numerous family and friends who loved Andrew dearly.

Andrew was a special young man who loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was a simple man who enjoyed life to the fullest. With a smile on his face and a heart as big as Texas, Andrew touched many lives during his short time on this earth. Andrew loved people, the beach, Carolina Tarheels and most of all Jesus. He was a praying young man who always prayed for others. He will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Andrew.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Poston Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Melvin and the Reverend Philip Siebles officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service until 9:00pm on Friday evening at the church.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha with the Reverend Daniel Shuskey officiating.

Casketbearers will be David Morgan, Brandon Chestnutt, Kevin Williams, Scott Holt, Chris Blanchard, Garrett Boney and Jeff Hargrove along with Duplin County Honor Guards.
