Andrew \\"Andy\\" Newell Myers, age 82, of Rocky Point died Monday, March 9, 2009 at his home.

He was born March 27, 1926 in Pender County and was the son of the late Lawyer Quinton Myers and Florence Mallard Myers.

Mr. Myers was a retired building contractor. Serving his country honorably during World War II, he was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord, his family and friends. His steadfast faith took him through a lengthy illness with grace and concern for his caregivers - his faithful children. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his daughters, Janice McCoy of Rocky Point and Nancy Godwin of Castle Hayne; son, Andrew Brent Myers and his wife, Sue, of Rocky Point; grandchildren, Scott McCoy, Karen McCoy Reid, Jeremy Ives and Ebe Godwin III; sister, Betty M. Webb of Burgaw; brother, Woodrow Myers and his wife, Shirley, of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Burgaw Cemetery with The Reverend Frank Seamster officiating.
