Angela Michelle Riggs Wood, age 40, of Rocky Point died Friday, November 7, 2008 at her home.

She was born July 10, 1968 in Wilmington and was the daughter of Clarence J. Riggs, Jr. and Mary Ellen Pridgen Riggs of Rocky Point.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Terry Wood; daughter, Hillary Harris of Burgaw; grandson, Christian Lee Riggs; brothers, Jeff Riggs of Rocky Point and Michael Riggs of Wilmington; grandfather, Clarence J. Riggs, Sr. of Rocky Point and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Michelle was a graduated of Cape Fear Community College and attended Wrightsboro Baptist Church

Michelle loved her family dearly, always showing her love and caring in many special ways. Her dad and her grandson were the light of her life. Being a very independent lady she liked to take charge and care for her family and friends. Michelle had steadfast faith, a winning smile and a joyful spirit. Cherished memories of Michelle will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at James Pickett Cemetery with The Rev. Mike Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.
