Ann Carolyn Hardin Harts, 56, of Rocky Point died peacefully at home on Monday, January 11, 2010 with her family by her side.

She was born December 5, 1953 in Lumberton and was the daughter of the late Ford and Carolyn Ruth Ivey Hardin. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Hardin.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Willie F. Harts of the home; son, Frankie Harts and his wife, Jo of Rocky Point; grandson, Cody Harts; brothers, Tony Hardin and his wife, Celia of Rocky Point and Carroll Hardin and his wife, Diane of Smithville, Tennessee; sister, Nancy Sykes and her husband, Jim of Florence, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

Prior to Carolyn's short battle with cancer she was employed for many years with L L Building Products in Burgaw.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. Her faith in God and the support of her family gave her strength during her illness. Her love of nature, joyful smile and gentle laughter will always be remembered. Carolyn's family is grateful to God for her life, for your friendship and for your kindness and prayers.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with The Rev. J. C. Young-Thompson officiating.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401
