A kind and feisty soul, a gracious and loving lady, Ann Register Porter entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the age of 94. She was born June 27, 1926 in Wilmington  to Edward B. and Ann Griffith Register, living most of her wonderful life in the small community of Yamacraw in Currie.

In addition to her parents Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. "Pete"  Porter, Sr.; sister, Joyce Phillips; brothers, John G. Register and Ed Register.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Alice Naumuk and Susan Porter; son Richard Porter, Jr. and wife, Patti; grandchildren, Paul Naumuk (Edel), David Naumuk (Lindsey), John Naumuk (Michelle), Richard Porter III (Alex), Mason Porter and Jamie Porter; nine great grandchildren; many extended family and friends.

She was a longtime dedicated member of Moores Creek Baptist Church.

Filled with kindness, compassion and a Christian spirit, Ann welcomed everyone she met into her wide circle of family and friends. Family was her pride and joy in life. She especially enjoyed watching sports (favorite-NC State) with her grandchildren. Prior to Pete's passing in 2012, Ann and Pete enjoyed many occasions and happy hours at their river home. For many years, Ann loved spending time with "The Group". Ann's radiant smile and joy in life will be long be remembered.

Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Moores Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with The Rev. Roger Barnes conducting the service.

Casketbearers will be Ann's beloved grandchildren. Honorary bearers will be Billy Register, Rod Register, Patrick Miller, Jay Porter, David Porter, Alec Porter and Joe Miller.
