Anna Marie Anderson Leary Godbold, 68, of Cedar Point, NC and formerly of Wallace, NC left this earthly life for her new home in Heaven where she shall ever be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born September 18, 1948 in New Hanover County and was the daughter of the late Joseph Robert and Doris Violet Page Anderson. She is predeceased by her husband, Vernon Melrose Leary and her granddaughter, Ashley Nunnery.
Anna was finance officer for the Town of Wallace for many years.
Surviving is her husband of 7 years, Cleveland Henry "J.R." Godbold, Jr.; children, Steven Godbold and wife, Jackie of Fayetteville, Cheri Nunnery and husband, Troy of Autryville and Patrick Godbold of Roseboro; grandchildren, Taylor Godbold, Haley Nunnery, Kyla Godbold and Mason Godbold; sister, Lynn A. Bryan of Teachey; brother, James Daniel Anderson of Wilmington; nephews, William Lee Anderson of Baltimore, MD and Joseph Adam Bryan of Wallace and numerous extended family and friends who loved Anna dearly.
Anna was dedicated Christian woman who loved the Lord and her family. She was an encourager who always seemed to have the right words to encourage and uplift others. Anna was a prayer warrior who believed in the power of prayer. Being one who loved nature, Anna enjoyed taking walks in the woods. She was a woman of beauty inside as well as outside. She was one that would always 'have your back' and be there for those she knew and loved. Anna will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be at 6:00pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Charles Ray Jernigan officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, NC.
In lieu of flowers, Anna requested that memorial gifts be sent to Poston Baptist Church, 4121 S NC Hwy 11, Wallace, NC 28466 or to Boys & Girls Home of NC, PO Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450 or to a charity of your choice.
