Anna Thomson Vick, 91, of Atkinson and formerly of Wilmington gently passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at her home.

She was born October 10, 1918 in Abbeville, SC, the daughter of James Calvert and Clara Jane Beaty Thomson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin Steadman Vick and son, James "Jimmie" Walter Vick.

Anna is survived by her devoted family; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Haywood Debnam of Atkinson; grandchildren, Christopher Debnam (Mary) and Jennifer D. Augi (Rich); great grandchildren, Alexandria, Olivia, Alianna, Griffin and Peterson; and several nieces and nephews.

Anna was a graduate of Florida Junior College at Jacksonville, receiving a Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. For many years she was employed with Cape Fear Memorial Hospital, working in the OB-GYN department and prior to her retirement at the age of 72 she served as evening supervisor for the hospital. She was a member of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church and attended Caswell Presbyterian Church when her health permitted.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Roy Brewton and The Rev. Dean Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, one hour prior to the funeral service.

Ann and family extend grateful appreciation to Huelva Corbett, Anna's faithful caregiver for the past 3 years, and to Lower Cape Fear Hospice staff.
