Obituary

Following a long and fruitful life, God touched her and she slept. Annie Green Bland, 102, passed peacefully from her earthly life on December 21, 2016 at Bethesda Health Care in Eastover.

She was born April 4, 1914 in Oriental, the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie Belle Tuttle Green. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Jodie Abner Bland; children, Laura McKoy, Mary Randles, Linda Davis, Joyce Ann Patterson, Doris Bland, J. R. Bland and Billy Bland; step-children, Ollie Bland, Shirley Bland, Rosalee Saunders and Jack Bland; and all of her siblings.

Annie is survived by her daughters, Lessie Bishop, Annie Mae Bland, and Judy Bland; sons, David Bland and Cecil Bland; 43 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren and three great great great grandchildren. Prior to Annie's passing there were six living generations.

Not only was Annie a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, but a true friend to many. With a sparkle in her eyes, a joyful spirit and a delightful smile, Annie served her Lord and her family well. She was tiny in statue, big in heart and always with a kind word to others. Her sweet, sweet spirit continues to dwell in our hearts.

The family will receive friends at 12 noon on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with service at 1:00 p.m.. The Rev. Merrell McKoy will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
