Obituary

Annie Crutchfield Williams, age 90, of Rocky Point passed peacefully to her eternal rest on Friday, July 30, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born October 1, 1919 in Greensboro, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Florence Hill Crutchfield.

Annie is survived by her children, Linda Pickett (Earl) of Rocky Point who Annie lived with for the past 17 years, Andrea Pickett (Donnie) of Rocky Point, Betty Nelson (Bobby) of Randleman, Steve York (Patsy) of Hilliard, Florida, and Nancy Hatfield of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Annie loved her family dearly and was loved in return. She was a wonderful homemaker and always prepared the most delicious meals and created a warm and loving home. Being a good seamstress, she made many of her children's clothes when they were young. In her older years she enjoyed working puzzles and raising flowers, especially her Gardenia bush, which still blooms today. Annie loved the Lord, her family and all of God's nature. Cherished memories of Annie will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Jim Pickett Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold Griffin officiating.
