April Marie Ormond, age 31, of Wilmington, NC, was called away to be with Jesus on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC following a long illness.

She was born on September 10, 1992 in New Bern, NC, to Christopher Lee Ormond and Ann Marie Atkinson.

April loved working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and helping people in any way she could. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, and mother. April was a bright light to many, and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, April is survived by her daughters, Madison Grace and McKenzie Marie; brother, Jonathon Ormond and wife, Madison; uncle, Dean Atkinson; aunt, Tammy Hill and husband, Perry; maternal grandmother, Gracie Ann Atkinson; and paternal grandparents, Gaylin Ormond and Darlene Chapman.

April was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Cecil Atkinson; paternal grandparent, Jim Chapman; and aunt, Debra Atkinson.

There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2pm at the Church of Pentecostal Gathering in Wallace, NC with Pastor Rodney Bonham officiating, followed by a Committal service at 3pm at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC, with Evangelist Franky Spivey officiating.
