Archie Mack Richardson, 72, of Currie passed gently from his earthly life Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 29, 1942 in Pender County, the son of the late Joseph Charlie and Carrie Lee Powers Richardson. Also lovingly remembered is his son, Archie Scott "Scottie" Richardson and step-daughter, Beverly Clark Mason, both who preceded Archie in death.

Archie is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Sherlynn Burns Clark-Richardson; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Costin and Kristen Mason; lap dogs, "Gizmo" and "Scooter"; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, all who thought the world of Archie.

By career and love of the outdoors, Archie was a forester and timber cruiser with Squires Timber Company and his company, Richardson Logging. With a caring for all of God's creatures, Archie was known to have nurtured Palomino show horses (winning 3 World Championships), his miniature horse, chickens, and you name it Archie has taken care of it. Being an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, Archie enjoyed sharing his skills with others. Archie was a true friend; a man of few words with a strong will and tenacious spirit. First and foremost in Archie's life was his family and his quiet Christian faith. Many special memories of Archie will remain with family and friends.

Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Steve Gasque officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday at 6:00 p.m. until hour of the service.
