Auston Mckenneth
Williams Sr.
February 13, 1943 – April 3, 2024
Auston McKenneth Williams Sr., passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Born on February 13, 1943 in Tabor City, the son of Mace Lee Williams and Ruth Jane Duncan Williams.
After retiring from General Electric in 2006, his life was a testament to the things he cherished most; his faith, the tranquility of fishing and the joyous moments spent with his family and grandchildren.
Auston was a longtime active and faithful member of Jordans Chapel Methodist Church. He loved and appreciated his church family as they were an important part of his life.
Auston leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Melba Batson Williams; his children; Kenny Williams Jr., Steven Williams, Christine Williams Collier (Michael Myers), and Kellie Williams Clay (Greg); step-children, Glenn Redding (Jodi) and Karen R. Mason (Allen); ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and special friends, Pat and Margaret Long, Daune Toussaint, and Ervin Taylor and many other loved ones.
Preceded in death is his first wife of 30 years, Barbara Ann Dixon Williams; brother, Carlton Lee Williams and daughters in-law, Loretta Williams and Lori Williams.
A visitation will be held at Jordan's Chapel Methodist Church, 4670 Stag Park Rd, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Lenier Furr officiating.
Interment will be on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at East Side Cemetery, Rockingham, NC.
