Barbara Haire Davis, 72, of Rocky Point passed gently from her earthly life on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Huntington Health Care in Burgaw.
She was born December 4, 1943 in Elizabethtown, the daughter of the late William L. Haire and Gladys Barnhill Haire White.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ronald "Ron" G. Davis; daughters, Lisa Caison (Joe), Janet Stoudenmire and Shannon Oakley (Jim); sons, Chris Elliott (Sherlon); grandchildren, Chris Caison, Shane Caison, Alex Caison, Braden Elliott, Adam Elliott, Madi Stoudenmire, Brittney Perez (Will), and Kristin Sykes; great grandchildren, Mya Hamam, Savannah Perez and Sebastian Wes Perez; sister, Paula Marek (Billy); brother, Wayne Haire; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Many will remember Barbara teaching them art as she taught senior citizens art through Cape Fear Community College for 19 years.
Barbara touched countless lives near and far with her smile, quick wit, positive attitude and wonderful personality. She was original from the start, never wavering from being that most authentic lady. Having a God given talent, Barbara excelled in all mediums of art; oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Above all else she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Barbara's giving spirit and compassion knew no bounds. Barbara was a gift to this world and was loved by so many, especially her beloved family.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 pm. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Jody Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Burgaw Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Chris Elliott, Braden Elliott, Shane Caison, Chris Caison, Joe Caison and Billy Marek.
