Barbara Clare James, 85, of Milton passed away on September 11, 2020. She was born on May 30, 1935 in Marines, North Carolina (now Camp LeJune) to Robert E. and Clare Aman Turner.

Barbara was a devout Christian lady who taught school at Bagdad Elementary School. She was an accomplished painter and enjoyed gardening. She loved her monthly outings with her group of friends and kept up that tradition until the end.  She was a  woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, "an instrument of God's love on this earth."  Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: her sister, Helen Rockwood; her children, Robert (Cheryl) Olson, Sheila (Carlos) Sabogal, and John (Brenda) Olson; grandchildren: Melissa Lucas, Josh Olson, Jessica (Chad) Carraway, John Olson, Jr., and Tiffany Olson; and great-grandchildren: Dominic, Kamille, Brooklynne, Kennley, Morgann, and Laikynn.

Funeral service was held at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Miilton, FL at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wallace Chapel.
