Barbara Jean Callahan Morgan, 87, passed gently from her earthly life Monday, August 3, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

She was born September 20, 1938 in New Hanover County, the daughter of Ralph Callahan and Rachael Sutherland Callahan.

In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Morgan.

Barbara is survived by her children, Gerald Buechler, Christian Buechler (Karen), Donald Keith Buechler (Denila), and Michael Buechler; grandchildren, Erik Callahan, Bryce Buechler, Evin Buechler, and Aaron Buechler; three great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Barbara was very artistic and enjoyed all types of crafts, crocheting, and sewing and excelled in all that she made. Also, she was good at interior decorating and had a great eye for color and pretty items. Most of all Barbara loved her family and was well loved in return. Barbara will truly be missed.
