Obituary

Barbra Dee, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Monday July 21, 2025, after a life filled with love, faith, and service.

She was born on December 10, 1954, in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Ellis Ray Torrans Sr. and Dorothy Anne Skipper Torrans of Warsaw.

Barbra leaves behind her two daughters, Stephanie Draughon Jones and her husband Casey of Hampstead and Polly Draughon Quinn and her husband Charles of Warsaw. She is also survived by her grandchildren and the apples of her eye, Grace Anne Jones, Noah Lee Jones, George-Allen Parker, Grayson A. Parker and Graylee Anna Parker. Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to talk about them, love on them, or cheer them on in everything they did. She found much delight in talking about them to others.

She is also survived by three loving siblings - sisters Wanda Canady and husband Al of Teachey, Lisa T. Fussell and husband Mike of Teachey and brother Ellis Ray Torrans, Jr of Magnolia; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Barbra dearly.

With over 30 years of dedicated service in the banking industry, Barbra built a career marked by professionalism, care, and integrity. But, it was her vibrant personality and warm spirit that truly left a mark on those who had the gift of knowing her. She had a way of lighting up every room and making people feel seen and loved.

Barbra was a woman of unwavering faith who deeply loved the Lord. Her life was a testament to grace, compassion, and strength. She found joy in the simple things—Sunday worship, time with her family, and sharing a contagious laugh with friends. She was the kind of mother who showed up, the kind of grandmother who made everything feel magical, and the kind of woman whose presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.
