Obituary

Barry James Lanier, age 54, of Beulaville died Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Duplin County.

He was born March 8, 1953 in Duplin County and was the son of Eunice Lanier Dickens of Burgaw and the late Hosea William Lanier. He was also predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Gail Lanier.

Mr. Lanier was employed with Valley Protein in Rose Hill. He served his country honorably in the US Army.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Robert W. Lanier (Betty Lynn) of Dudley; grandchildren, Amber L. Scott, Hannah M. Lanier, Robert L. Lanier and John P. Price; love of his life, Bunny and her children, Rodney, Wanda and Ronnie; sisters, Teresa Shepard (Tommy) of Burgaw, Tammy Landreth (Joey) of Elizabethtown, Jennifer Cherry (Bill) and Robin Horrell (Jimmy) all of Wilmington; brother, Lannie W. Lanier, Sr. of Montgomery, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Carl Gibbs officiating.

Burial will follow in Harrells Community Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Rodney Quinn, Ronnie Quinn, Gary Faircloth, Scott Morgan, Joe Holmes and Anthony King.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
