Barry Alexander Woodcock, 64, of Rocky Point left his earthly life for his eternal rest on Thursday, September 5, 2013.
He was born January 4, 1949 in Pender County, the son of the late Hoyt and Doris Fink Woodcock. He was also predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Marquitta and Bob Schlotthauer and nephew, David Schlotthauer.
Surviving is his daughter, Laine Woodcock of Wrightsville Beach; brother, Warren Woodcock (Daryl) of Paris, TN; sister, Sharon Edwards (Sammy) of Rocky Point; a special cousin who was like a brother to Barry, Claude Page; nephews, Phillip Woodcock and Steven Schlotthauer; numerous cousins and many friends.
Barry served his country honorably in the US Navy and was employed with Murray Construction Company for 35 years. He was a master craftsman following in his dad's footsteps.
Barry loved his family, especially his daughter, Laine. As long as his health permitted he enjoyed hunting, fishing and all of God's nature. Barry was rarely without his favorite, a Sun-Drop drink! His smile, his witty personality and his faith in God will always be remembered.
Memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Jim Herchenhahn and The Rev. Dr. Edward L. Moore, Sr. officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Sammy and Sharon Edwards.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to NWTF Developement Dept., National Wild Turkey Federation, PO Box 530, Edgefield, SC 29824.
