Beaula Mae Johnson Murray, 87, of Burgaw was granted her angel wings on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Her final day on this earth was spent doing what she loved best, attending her beloved church, Penderlea Pentecostal Holiness Church where Beaula was active for so many years.

She was born November 5, 1925 in Pender County, the daughter of the late Henry L. and Lillian Wheeler Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben T. Murray in 1975; son, Fred Murray; four sisters and one brother.

Beaula is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Dianne Murray and Reuben and Debbie Murray all of Burgaw; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gary Brown of Beulaville; brother, Samuel Johnson of AL; sister, Alene Todd of FL; granddaughters, Chenoa Coker (Shea), Wendy Herring (Chris), Amy Simpson (Eric) and Rebecca Chestnutt (Ben); seven great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Beaula loved with all of her heart and her sweet smile brightened the lives of all who knew her. Not only was she a beloved wife and wonderful mother, grandmother and sister, but a good friend. Her strong faith in Jesus Christ was evident all of life, to the very end as some of her last words were praising God. Cherished memories of Beaula will always remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Dean Walker and the Rev. Kathy Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Casketbearers will be George Hubbard, George Hubbard, Jr., George Yopp, David Nance, Roger Bowden and Riley Murray. Honorary bearers will be Wayne Rivenbark and Glen Rivenbark.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times friends are welcome at the home of Reuben and Debbie Murray.

Flowers are welcome and memorial gifts may be given to Penderlea PH Church, 8348 Penderlea Hwy, Willard, NC 28478.
