Ben "Benny" Gross Murray, Jr., 63, of Watha passed peacefully into the glory of his heavenly home on April 15, 2022, Friday before Easter at his home.

He was born November 27, 1958 in Wilmington, the son of Ben Gross Murray, Sr. and Clarice Adams Murray. In addition to his parents Benny was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Murray.

Benny is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Joyce Alford Murray; his extended family and many friends.

He was a stalwart Christian and faithful member of Atkinson Baptist Church. In 1984 Benny began his long professional career in interior trim by starting his own company, Murray Woodwork. He was a noted craftsman when it came to woodworking and perfection.

In years past Benny and Joyce raised and showed quarter horses. These same horses are now geriatric, well loved and cared for. Benny and Joyce had a potbelly pig show up on their doorstep which they took in to live with all of their cats and dogs. Among all his projects, Benny found time for fishing which he greatly enjoyed. Benny leaves us lots of love along with the importance of God, Family and Country.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Atkinson Baptist Church with memorial service beginning at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary. Reverend Ken Smith will be officiating.
