December 24, 1951 – September 18, 2024
Bernard Ray Stancil (Ray), 72, of Wilmington, NC, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Ray was born December 24, 1951, to the late Bernard "Hoover" Stancil and Reba Faulkner Stancil.
He is survived by his cherished wife and friend, Debbie Long Stancil; his sons, Randy Stancil (Melissa) and Jason Walling; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Palmer, Chase Palmer; his dear sisters, Brenda Moore, Shirley Lloyd (Bill); brothers-in-law, Andy Long, Ronald Long; many nieces, nephews; and his very special friend, David Cottle (Irma).
Ray was retired from Taylor's Heating and Air at Carolina Beach, NC, and loved his family, friends and life. Everyone he met remembered him, you never knew when he was serious or kidding. He had a passion for art and always had a pencil in his hand.
The last few years he fought Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia and then squamous cell carcinoma which became very aggressive after radiation treatment. He loved the Lord and is now in His presence. Ray will forever be missed.
