Bernice Marie Cartwright Carr, age 85, of Teachey died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Duplin General Hospital.

Mrs. Carr was born March 15, 1923 in Elizabeth City, NC and was the daughter of the late George Washington and Ida Russell Cartwright. She was also predeceased by her husband, Edwin Black Carr and her three brothers.

She was a life-long member of Rockfish Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her loving children, Bernita Carr Efird and husband, Edward of Albermarle, Garland Edwin Carr and wife, Connie of Mocksville, Katherine Carr of Teachey and Paul Stephen Carr of Teachey; grandchildren, Landon Efird, Janna Efird Shaver, Brandon Carr, Lisa Carr and Lorrie Finney; seven great grandchildren and sister, Janet Honeycutt and husband, Herman of Hampstead.

A celebration of Mrs. Carr's life will be 3:00 pm Monday, February 23, 2009 at Rockfish Presbyterian Church in Wallace with the Reverend Simon Scott officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be sent to Rockfish Presbyterian Church, PO Box 338, Wallace, NC 28466.
