Bettie Graham Walker, 97, of Rocky Point passed peacefully from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Hermitage House in Castle Hayne, NC.

She was born October 27, 1914 in Pembroke, the daughter of the late Bethel and Fodia Belle Sampson Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Earl Walker and six siblings.

Surviving is her daughter, Ann Jacobs House of Juneau, Alaska; step-son, Linwood Walker; grandchildren, Lisa Judson (Ken) of Juneau and Vickie Valentic (Wayne) of Whitefish, MT; great grandchildren, Matthew Valentic of Reno, NV, Janessa Hoesly (Dr. Fritz Hoesly) of Jacksonville, FL, Jessica Pukala (Maika) and Kyle Miller both of Juneau; great great grandchildren, Alise, Leka, and Uini; many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Pembroke; her kind next door neighbor and friend, James Pratt and wonderful caregivers, Gail, Mardella, Annie Pearl, Bobbi Ann and Doreen.

Bettie loved her Lord, her family and her friends. She was a sharing, caring lady who loved baking cakes for the Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Dept. fund raisers. Being an excellent cook, she enjoyed sharing her culinary delights with family, friends and those that were shut-in. She maintained her wonderful witty personality as she grew older. Bettie lived her life her way. Her memory is treasured by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
