Betty S. Bevis, age 78, of Wilmington passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.

She was born August 21, 1938 in Leighton, Alabama the daughter of the late Russell Slaton and Gladys Crosswhite Slaton. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Arlie Cleo Bevis; and a son, Arlie C. Bevis Jr.

Betty loved to listen to Elvis, watch Alabama Football, read, finish crosswords and other puzzles but most of all she was devoted to her family. She was a talented home maker that enjoyed cooking and taking care of the home for her two boys and husband. She is remembered for her quiet faith in God, her strong work ethic and her love of family.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph Russell "Rusty" Bevis and wife Lori of Wilmington; and numerous other loving extended family and friends.
A private service will be held at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Cheryl at Autumn Care; Jim and Carolyn Chesson; and Dr. Foxall and his staff for their wonderful and dedicated care throughout the years.
