Betty Jean Church, age 49, of Currie, NC passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

She was born on February 12, 1973, in Pender County, NC to the late James Albert Daughtrey and Marion Lynette Young Daughtrey.

Jean is survived by her step-mother, Nena Daughtrey; former spouse, Joseph Wayne Church; friend for life, Chris Wright; step-brothers, Stevie Woodcock and Christopher Daughtrey; step-sister, Katrina D. Russ (Rick); aunts, Frankie Mae D. Saunders (Louis), Barbara Smith, Judy Daughtrey, Kay Daughtrey, Betty Woodcock, and Ida Jane Baysden (James); uncles, Barry Miller (Shirlyn) and Ray Woodcock (Cheryl); cousin, Marcia Woodcock, who was like a sister to her; and many other family and friends.

No funeral will be held. Her wish was for all her family and friends to get together for a meal at her favorite restaurant and to tell everyone that she was ready to go to Heaven and dance with her grandmother and that she loved them all.
