Billie Katherine “Kathy” Cherry, 79, of Burgaw, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 4, 1947 in Wilmington, NC, and spent her life as a mother and grandmother and as a public and academic librarian. She was known for her strong spirit and dedication to her faith in Christ.

Kathy is survived by her children, Gina L. Williams of Wilmington, Steven Kent Snyder and his wife Margaret of Luttrell, TN, Ashley “Ash” Morris Cherry and wife Carla of Dunn, NC, and Amy Melissa Cherry Millis of Burgaw, NC; siblings, Randall Perry Lennon and his wife Vickie of Red Springs, NC, Kim Lennon Hartman of Durham, NC, Kelly L. Lennon of Whiteville, NC, and Jan Alison Lennon Miller and husband, David Miller of Mebane, NC; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

The graveside funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Riverview Memorial Park, 9332 US Hwy 117, Willard/Watha, NC with Pastor Adam Kord conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
