Billy Hayes, age 74, of Rose Hill passed from this life to his eternal rest on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from The Gardens of Rose Hill.

He was born on April 19, 1945 in Columbus County and was the son of the late Neal and Martha Jane Bailey Hayes.  He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Irene Hayes; and by his siblings, Mattie Register, Louise Callahan, Joe Hayes, Alex Hayes, Leon Hayes and Eloise Dale.

Billy proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.

Billy is survived by his brother, Luther Hayes and his wife, Sherie of Whiteville; 3 nieces, Katherine Piner and her husband, Allen of Wallace, Shirley Rackley and her husband, John of Rocky Point and Sylvia Sawyer and her husband, Wayne of Hampstead and numerous extended family and friends that love Billy dearly.

At the request of Billy, his body will be cremated.
